'On Desire' is a prelude by Erik Pauhrizi and Erika Ernawan as an artist-couple project. Both Erik and Erika share a singular interest in the subject of human anthropology, identity, and body language. The inception of 'On Desire' came from a challenge in a desirous relationship involving an absence of a physical figure — long-distance communication, spatial gap, time interval — while Erik was studying in Germany and Erika has to live and work in Indonesia. In the intimacy of coupledom, desires give rise to expectations, dreams, and at the same time, fear. In the split of their time, there are unceasing feelings of unrest and conflicts, a cavity of desire. 'On Desire' offers a temporal gain in an honest conversation between two — both as modern individuals, as a couple, as contemporary artists, and above all — as human beings.
